Since 1999, Landmark Academy has grown from a small K-8 school into a full PK-12 public charter school — chartered with the support of Saginaw Valley State University, our authorizer, and built on the belief that every student deserves a nurturing, challenging place to learn.

1999
Landmark Academy is founded in Kimball, Michigan, with the support of Saginaw Valley State University, our authorizer, opening as a K-8 school with around 197 students.
2003
Landmark Academy earns accreditation, a status the school has maintained ever since.
2009
The school launches its athletic program, giving middle and high school students the chance to compete as Landmark Lakers.
TODAY
Landmark Academy has grown into a full PK-12 public charter school, offering an online program, adult education program, and an alternative education program, having served over 6,000 students and produced more than 600 graduates.

Chartered by Saginaw Valley State University
Landmark Academy was founded in 1999 with the support of Saginaw Valley State University, our authorizer. That relationship continues today, giving every eligible Landmark graduate a direct path to a scholarship at SVSU.
Landmark Academy has also been accredited by Cognia since 2003, reflecting our ongoing commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
